COTABATO CITY, July 20, 2026 — The Office of Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito distributed school kits and other educational supplies to students of Tubuan Elementary School in Datu Blah Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, on July 15, as part of its assistance to schools affected by the flooding brought by Super Typhoon Inday.
Tubuan Elementary School was identified as one of the beneficiaries after floodwaters damaged school supplies and learning materials. Located in the remote Barangay Tabuan, the school has limited access to government assistance due to its geographical isolation.
Teachers, students, and parents expressed their gratitude to MP Benito for the assistance, noting that the school kits would help learners prepare for the upcoming school year despite the losses caused by the flooding.
The delivery of the assistance required personnel from the Office of MP Benito to cross several rivers aboard improvised boats because the barangay is inaccessible by road. The team also trekked several kilometers on foot before reaching the school to distribute the school kits.
The activity forms part of the Office of MP Benito's continuing efforts to provide immediate assistance to underserved communities and support students in disaster-affected areas across the Bangsamoro region.
