MAKATI CITY, July 9, 2026 — Committee on Social Services and Development Chairperson Member of Parliament Nureddha Misuari presided over the deliberations on four important bills referred to the committee, with Vice Chairperson Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito actively participating in the discussion.

MP Misuari said the measures are vital to advancing social welfare programs and protecting vulnerable sectors in the Bangsamoro region.

She said that the importance of these measures should not be diminished by their absence from the schedule, stressing that transition-period legislation must continue under the regular Bangsamoro Parliament. Among the priority bills are BTA Bill No. 121, which seeks to create the Bangsamoro Commission of Senior Citizens; BTA Bill No. 394, which institutionalizes development assistance for Bangsamoro communities outside BARMM; BTA Bill No. 245, which establishes a center for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder; and BTA Bill No. 256, which creates a free marriage counseling program.

In his manifestation on BTA Bill No. 121, MP Benito said that the measure would protect the rights and dignity of senior citizens. He added that public consultations have already been held in several BARMM areas and will continue in Basilan, Zamboanga City, and Lanao del Norte, especially for BTA Bill No. 394
