Office of MP Abdulbasit Benito Backs CSO-Government Partnership Forum in Cotabato City

July 25, 2025 | Cotabato City
In a powerful expression of solidarity with community-based development, the Office of Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito lent its full support to the CSO-Government Partnership Forum held on July 24, 2025, at the League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO) Office in Cotabato City.
The event was facilitated by the League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO) under the leadership of President Prof. Hashim B. Manticayan, in coordination with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Tourism (MTIT). It was implemented by the LBO Bureau on Economic and Infrastructure, headed by Ms. Shaima Agasor, whose team led the groundwork and execution of the program.
A total of 40 cooperatives and CSO beneficiaries—supported by MP Benito through the Transition Development Impact Fund (TDIF)—participated in the forum. These organizations represent grassroots movements that are actively contributing to socio-economic transformation in various communities across the Bangsamoro region.
The MTIT was represented by Mr. Anwar Dimaukom, Chief of the Planning and Policy Division, who not only delivered an inspiring message but also shared concrete opportunities available for CSOs and cooperatives under the ministry’s current programs. These include market linkage support, skills and product development trainings, MSME financing options, and participation in trade fairs and exhibitions.
> “CSOs and cooperatives are encouraged to directly engage with MTIT to avail of various technical and financial assistance programs designed to boost economic participation,” said Mr. Dimaukom. “We are ready to assist organizations that are committed to inclusive growth.”
Prof. Hashim B. Manticayan, in his remarks, emphasized the value of partnerships that are grounded in trust and shared vision.
> “True governance happens when communities are not only heard but are given a seat at the table,” Prof. Manticayan shared. “We thank MP Benito and MTIT for recognizing the strength of CSOs.”
Ms. Shaima Agasor, leading the implementing bureau, reaffirmed that this initiative is not just a one-time event but part of a larger commitment to bridge communities with concrete government support and capacity-building efforts.
> “Forums like this remind us that when communities are connected with the right resources, transformation is possible,” she said.
In his heartfelt message, MP Abdulbasit R. Benito stressed that every cooperative and CSO funded under TDIF is not just a beneficiary—but a partner in building a just and prosperous Bangsamoro.
> “We believe in your dreams, and that is why we invest in you. Through our TDIF programs, and with the support of ministries like MTIT, we aim to keep that dream alive,” MP Benito declared. “This is governance that listens, learns, and walks with the people.”
Participants shared success stories and challenges, and many expressed interest in enrolling in MTIT’s development programs. The event concluded with strengthened partnerships, deeper understanding, and a renewed commitment to cooperation among CSOs, the Parliament, and the ministries of BARMM.
As the Bangsamoro region continues to pursue peace and progress, the Office of MP Benito, together with LBO, MTIT, and grassroots stakeholders, stands firm in its dedication to empowering communities and unlocking economic opportunities for all.
