MP Benito Urges Post-Election Unity Among Bangsamoro Leaders

COTABATO CITY – Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito today delivered a powerful call for reconciliation and solidarity among Bangsamoro leaders in the wake of the 2025 midterm elections. Addressing the Bangsamoro Parliament, MP Benito emphasized that now is the time to "erase those lines" drawn by electoral contests.
In his speech, "Beyond Elections, A Call for Reconciliation and Solidarity Among Bangsamoro Leaders," Benito congratulated newly elected officials, reminding them of their "renewed call to serve." He also extended respect to those not elected, stating their "wisdom, experience, and continued contributions" are still vital.
"This is not a time to deepen our divisions, but a time to come together in solidarity... for the greater good of the Bangsamoro," MP Benito urged. He specifically commended Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua for his "wisdom and initiative in fostering reconciliation," calling it a "timely and commendable" effort.
MP Benito concluded with an appeal to "serve with one heart and one purpose," urging leaders to protect the hard-won peace and work towards a "just, inclusive, and morally upright Bangsamoro society."
