Cotabato City, July 4, — In a continuing effort to nurture faith and spiritual understanding among the staffs and LBO members, the Office of Member of the Bangsamoro Parliament (MP) Abdulbasit R. Benito successfully held the second session of its Halaqat series, this time centering on a deep reflection of Surah Al-Kahf.
The session was held in partnership with the Bureau of Spiritual and Development of the League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO), under the leadership of Director Prof. Hasim Iskak. The gathering brought together MP Benito staff and LBO members, united by their shared desire to strengthen their Islamic knowledge and connection with the Qur’an.
Surah Al-Kahf, known for its themes of faith, patience, and the trials faced by believers, was discussed in detail, offering attendees spiritual insights and practical lessons relevant to the challenges of modern life. Participants were encouraged to reflect deeply on the Surah's messages and apply them in their daily lives as Muslims and active citizens of the Bangsamoro region.
MP Benito, through this initiative, aims to provide a safe and enriching space for young Bangsamoro to grow not only intellectually but also spiritually. “In a time of great responsibility and transformation in our region, we must not forget the foundation of our moral compass — our deen (faith). Halaqat like this helps us stay grounded and guided,” MP Benito stated.
The Halaqat sessions will continue in the coming weeks, with more Surahs and Islamic topics to be explored, further strengthening the role of faith in the journey toward moral governance and regional peacebuilding.
