MP Abdulbasit R. Benito Represents Chief Minister Macacua at MAPEA 4th General Assembly

Member of the Bangsamoro Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito delivered an inspirational message on behalf of Bangsamoro Chief Minister Hon. Abdulraof Macacua during the 4th General Assembly of the Maguindanaon Professional and Employees Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MAPEA), held today, May 6, 2025, at Pagana Restaurant, Cotabato City.
Themed “Tagapeda sa Kalilintad nu Bangsamoro” (Partner for Progress in the Bangsamoro), the event gathered MAPEA officers and members, led by MAPEA President and BARMM Minister of Health, Dr. Kadil "Jojo" Sinolindeng, Jr.
In his address, MP Benito highlighted the strong and inspiring leadership qualities of Chief Minister Macacua, whom he described as “a jolly, kind, and people-centered leader” – characteristics he emulated from the late MILF Founding Chairman Sheikh Salamat Hashim (Allaaho Yarhamo). MP Benito further emphasized the Chief Minister’s transparency, bravery as a warrior and mujahideen, and unwavering political will.
“He is a connector — someone who builds bridges instead of walls,” said MP Benito. “He practices the principle of bridging leadership, allowing him to unify different sectors and communities in the Bangsamoro.”
Benito underscored the Chief Minister’s achievements as OIC Governor of the newly created province of Maguindanao del Norte, noting the rapid development under his leadership. “It is not surprising that with just over a year of his term, he was able to elevate the status of the province to being one of the most progressive in the entire country,” he said.
He also highlighted the vital role of professionals in the region, noting that during the transition period, the professional sector is among the most important groups the Chief Minister wishes to engage with. “Professionals should serve as think tanks — guiding our regional leadership in shaping responsive and effective governance,” he added.
MP Benito called on fellow professionals to take part in navigating the course of the Bangsamoro government, particularly now that the region is transitioning to a regular government. “We have a very important role in shaping and navigating our own government. The foundations we have laid in Parliament over the past six years are for us to build upon — together.”
The assembly served as a platform to renew MAPEA's commitment to supporting good governance and public service, while fostering unity and excellence among Maguindanaon professionals.
