Cotabato City — In the wake of the May 12, 2025 midterm elections, Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito extended his heartfelt message to all candidates, both winners and those who fell short, praising their contributions to the democratic process.
Benito congratulated the newly elected officials, acknowledging the trust and hope placed in them by the people. “Your success reflects the trust and hope placed in you by the people,” he said. “As you take on the responsibility of leadership, may you serve with integrity, vision, and dedication.”
He also offered words of encouragement and gratitude to those who did not win, recognizing their role in strengthening democracy. “Thank you for your courage and commitment to public service. Democracy is stronger because of your participation and the choices you offered the electorate,” Benito stated.
Ending on a hopeful note, Benito called for unity and collaboration beyond election season. “Let us all continue working together for the good of our communities and our nation,” he said.
His message comes as the region looks ahead to a new chapter in governance, with expectations high for meaningful public service and inclusive progress.
