Kimarayag, April 13, 2025 — One of the most enduring legacies of the late Ameer Ul Mujahideen As Sheikh Salamat Hashim (AYH) lives on today: the value of staying close to the people. This principle, now embraced by the current Ameer of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and Chief Minister Abdulraof "Sammy Gambar" A. Macacua, continues to guide leadership in the region.
“A true leader finds fulfillment in serving others,” Chief Minister Macacua said. “The real essence of leadership is felt when you take joy in serving the people and remain deeply connected to them.”
With this spirit in mind, a two-day Consultation and Dialogue with Stakeholders is being held from April 12 to 13, 2025, at Margaritas Mountain Resort in Kimarayag. The gathering reflects the leadership’s commitment to engage directly with the Bangsamoro people, even in the face of limited resources.
“This is more than just a program—it’s a gesture of gratitude,” MP Benito shared. “We’ve been given the rare chance to serve, and in return, we do our best to live by the teachings of our leaders.”
The time to implement the transformative programs of the Chief Minister is short, which is why efforts like this consultation are being conducted back-to-back. It's a reflection of the heavy responsibility—or Amanah—carried by those in public office. And above all, they recognize their accountability not only to the Chief Minister but, more importantly, to Allah (SWT).
“InshaAllah, we will not fail the trust given to us,” MP Benito added.
The event also served as an opportunity to thank those working behind the scenes. Special appreciation was extended to Abdulbasir Mustapha, Director of the Bureau of Politics and Governance; H. Taib Amil, Director of the Bureau of Recruitment and Membership; Secretary General Mahdi Amella; and the dedicated staff led by Chief of Staff Yusoph Lumambas (Abu Amna Sandangan). Also recognized were Bureau of Education and Training Director Baddy Ibrahim, SLAO Ms. Ethel Usman, and many others whose names may not have been mentioned but whose efforts were deeply valued.
And most of all, the event highlighted the vital role of focal persons from the provinces of BARMM and Outside Bangsamoro Communities (OBC). Their presence and participation continue to bridge the leadership and the communities they serve.
“MashaAllah,” MP Benito said warmly, “this wouldn’t be possible without all of you. Shukran jazilan.
