TALAYAN, Maguindanao del Sur, May 4, 2025 — A wave of unity and support filled Poblacion, Talayan today, May 4, 2025, as Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito joined thousands of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Base Commanders, BIAF members, and supporters in a major assembly.
The event, led by United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) Secretary General, MILF-BIAF Chief of Staff, and BARMM Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua, Abdulraof "Sammy Gambar" A. Macacua gathered an estimated 20,000 BIAF members from across the Maguindanao provinces. The assembly served not only as a show of strength and solidarity among MILF ranks but also as a reaffirmation of their shared vision for peace, development, and governance in the Bangsamoro region.
Chief Minister Macacua, in his address, emphasized the importance of unity and political participation in shaping the future of the Bangsamoro. The gathering reflected strong grassroots support for UBJP's leadership and direction ahead of the upcoming local elections.
Also present were key UBJP candidates, including gubernatorial hopeful Datu Ali “Kagi Ali” Midtimbang, vice gubernatorial candidate Ustaz Hisham Nando, and congressional candidate Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu, along with board member and mayoralty aspirants from different towns in Maguindanao.
The event highlighted the continuing influence of the MILF and UBJP in local politics and their commitment to peace, progress, and inclusive leadership in the region.
