Simunul, Tawi-Tawi, June 25 – Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito joined Chief Minister Hon. Abdulraof A. Macacua in the official turnover of BARMM Kapyanan housing units to the Badjao community in Simunul, Tawi-Tawi, marking a milestone in the regional government’s efforts to uplift marginalized sectors.
In her welcome remarks, Simunul Mayor Hon. Wasilah Abdulrahman thanked the BARMM leadership for reaching out to remote island communities. Tawi-Tawi Governor Yshmael "Mang" Sali also expressed heartfelt gratitude, calling the project a symbol of compassion and inclusive governance.
Also present were officials from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) and the Ministry of Health (MOH), as well as several Members of the Bangsamoro Parliament, showing strong support for the holistic development of the Badjao beneficiaries.
MP Benito emphasized that the housing project is “not just about shelter, but about restoring dignity and delivering justice.” Chief Minister Macacua reaffirmed BARMM’s commitment to ensure no community is left behind.
As families moved into their new homes, the event stood as a powerful reminder of what inclusive and compassionate governance can achieve in the Bangsamoro.
