Among the special guests was Bangsamoro Parliament Member Abdulbasit R. Benito, who delivered the event’s heartfelt closing remarks.
In his speech, MP Benito extended his profound thanks to the leadership of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), recognizing the guidance and commitment of UBJP President and MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim, Vice President Mohagher Iqbal, and Secretary General and current Chief Minister, Hon. Abdulraof A. Macacua. He emphasized that their leadership was key to the historic 12-0 victory in Cotabato City.
Benito also expressed deep appreciation for the tireless efforts of the UBJP focal persons, executive officers, and poll watchers, whose dedication helped ensure a peaceful and successful campaign. “Above all,” he said, “we are grateful to Allah (SWT) for blessing us with unity, strength, and this victory.”
He reminded everyone that this triumph is not the end, but a call to preserve the unity that made it possible. “If we continue working together, we are well-positioned to win in the upcoming October 2025 first Parliamentary Elections and the December 2025 SK and Barangay Elections,” he stated with confidence.
During his remarks, MP Benito also highlighted the meaningful work of the Bangsamoro Parliament, particularly in crafting legislation that benefits Cotabato City. Among the key efforts he mentioned was the resolution he authored urging the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – National to fast-track the renovation of the Quirino Bridge — a vital infrastructure connecting communities within the city.
He likewise underscored the importance of maintaining a strong working relationship between the regional government and Cotabato City’s local government. He noted that this partnership ensures the smooth and effective delivery of services from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to the people of the city.
MP Benito also commended the proactive leadership of Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua, saying, “His energy, vision, and commitment to inclusive development have opened more doors of opportunity and progress not only for Cotabato City but for the entire Bangsamoro region.”
The event was more than a celebration — it was a reaffirmation of shared dreams and a collective commitment to serve with purpose and unity.
